Overview

The Dodge Charger has undergone significant transformations since its debut in 1966, evolving from a classic muscle car into a modern performance vehicle. The latest iteration, the eighth-generation Charger, introduced in March 2024, marks a pivotal shift by embracing both electric and traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) powertrains.

Design and Body Styles

The 2024 Charger is available in both two-door coupe and four-door sedan configurations, catering to diverse consumer preferences. The two-door models were the first to be released, with four-door versions expected to follow in 2025.

Powertrain Options

  1. Electric Variants: Marketed under the Charger Daytona nameplate, these models represent Dodge’s foray into electric muscle cars. The Daytona R/T variant produces 496 horsepower, achieving 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds, while the Daytona Scat Pack boasts 670 horsepower, reaching 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. The R/T offers an estimated range of 317 miles, and the Scat Pack approximately 260 miles on a full charge.

  2. Gasoline Variant: Set to debut in 2025, the ICE version, known as the Charger SIXPACK, will feature the 3.0-liter inline-six Hurricane engine, providing an alternative for enthusiasts preferring traditional combustion engines.
